Kenneth Dale Butler, 73, of Winchester, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Born on March 6, 1951, in Anchorage, Alaska, he was the son of the late Claude William and Rosa Lee (Stephens) Butler.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Kenneth dedicated much of his life to the construction industry, eventually retiring from Sunland Pipeline after many years of hard work. Known for his passion and gratitude, Kenneth cherished his family above all else, particularly his grandchildren, with whom he loved spending time with and watching their sports activities.

Kenneth was a man of many talents, skilled in working with his hands, especially on cars. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, camping, cheering for his UT Volunteers, and supporting his Pittsburgh Steelers. Affectionately nicknamed “Monkey” and “Stretch” by those who loved him. Kenneth’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Evelyn Lewis, George Butler, and Jeff Butler; and his stepmother, Sarah Butler.

Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Janice Butler; his children Sherman Hargrove, Sean (Tracy) Butler, Shelley (Kenneth) Wells, and Sacha (Kenny) Curtis; his grandchildren Chelsea Hargrove, Peyton Hargrove, Baily (Brad) Hornback, Keaton (Fletcher) Moore, Jacy Butler, Suede (Lindsey) Wells, Layton (Kayla) Wells, and Guess Crow; and his great-grandchildren Mason, Kingzli, Rhyslei, Winter, Milo, Maci, and Aurora. He is also survived by his siblings John (Sandra) Butler, Joyce (Patrick) Parrelli, and Regina (Scott) Robertson; stepbrother Michael (Sherry) Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will take place at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery.
