Kenneth Clint Nunley, 38, of Russellville, Alabama, departed from this life on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was born on March 30, 1979 to Kenny and Patricia Nunley. He was a beloved special education teacher and football coach at Colbert Heights High School. He was a graduate of the Cherokee High School, Class of 1997. He received degrees from Northwest Shoals Community College and Athens State University. He received a master’s degree from the University of West Alabama. He was a member of the church of Christ. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Stephanie (Hester) Nunley and daughter Olivia Lynn and son Blake Cade Nunley, all of Russellville, AL; parents, Kenny and Patricia Nunley, Tuscumbia, AL; sister, Kinsey Nunley, Vestavia Hills, AL; Grandparents, Jesse (Buddy) and Wanda Waldrep, Cherokee, AL; Mother-in-law, Donna Hester and brother-in-law, Tony (Stephanie) Hester, Niece, Adelyn Hester, all of Russellville, AL. Nephews, Drew and Luke Wallace, Vestavia Hills, AL. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernard and Jewel Nunley; Great-Grandparents, Jim and Mamie Holt; Great-grandmothers Velma Waldrep and Myrtle Nunley. Father-in-law Tony Hester. Special cousin, Josh Weatherford.
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017, 11:00 at Valdosta church of Christ. He will lie-in-state from 10-11 a.m. Officiating the services are Mark Nunley and Justin Nunley. Burial will be at Barton cemetery.
Morrison’s Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Al, is directing.
Pallbearers will be Drew Wallace, Morgan Stanfield, Brent Johnson, Brandon Nunley, Dustin Nunley, Gannon Nunley, and Greg Nunley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be fellow coaches and the Varsity and Junior Varsity football teams of Colbert Heights High School.
Visitation will be held at Morrison’s Funeral home in Tuscumbia, Alabama on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 6-9pm.
