Kenneth A. Williams, Jr., 66, of Florence passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at ECM Hospital. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Florence. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Brandon E. Miles and Dr. Richard Gillespie officiating.
A graduate of Coffee High School and the University of Alabama, Ken served in the National Guard 115th Signal Battalion. He attended First Presbyterian Church, Florence, where he served as an elder, deacon, treasurer and Sunday School teacher. Ken managed Williams & Son Oil Company for over 30 years. He became a Realtor in 2003. He was a member of the Florence Rotary Club and the Shoals Chamber of Commerce.
A natural athlete, Ken regularly played tennis, racquetball and squash. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including a yearly fishing trip to the gulf.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Landis Williams; daughter, Anne Landis Jetton (Jeff), of Nashville, TN; and son, Benjamin Craig Williams, of Smyrna, GA.
