Obituary Image Kendal Wade Mathis, 54, resident of Falkner, passed away Sunday April 28, 2024, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Kendal will be at 11 AM Thursday May 2, 2024, at Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Walnut MS, with Bro Clay Hall officiating and Scott Pulliam sharing the obituary. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday May 1, 2024, at Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Walnut, MS. Burial will follow in Christ Temple Apostolic Church Cemetery.

Born July 1, 1969, in Tippah County, Mr. Kendal is the son of the late Kennith and Polly Smith Mathis. He received his education from Kossuth High School and had a very strong work ethic, installing Dry Wall with Universal Dry Wall for fourteen years.

A Christan, Mr. Kendal’s favorite pastimes included playing the guitar with his friends, riding horses, and spoiling his grandchildren, especially his favorite “grand dog”, Gwyn. Always full of life, his friendly personality led him to many friendships throughout his life, as he never met a stranger and was always willing to a help anyone he could. Mr. Kendal had a fun sense of humor, affectionate smile, and easy-going nature, and his legacy will be that of a loving father, grandfather, brother, and true friend to all those whose life he touched most.

Those left to cherish his memories include one daughter, Caitlyn Mathis (A. J. Murphy), one son, Christopher Mathis (Leanne), two sisters, Debbie Lormendez, and Kim Holt (Joe), five grandchildren, Lilah and Haydn Mathis, and Aaliyah, Brianna, and Cassidy Pope, and Denise Mathis.

He is also preceded in death by one sister, Teresa Hernandez, one brother, Charles Mathis, and one grandson, Luke Mathis.
