Ken Jacobs, 80, of Huntsville, passed away on Wednesday.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from Howard College (now Samford University), he moved to Huntsville shortly thereafter and began working as a registered Pharmacist. After a few years, he took ownership of Propst Discount Drugs, a Huntsville landmark, which he owned and operated for 35 years.
Ken had many hobbies including running a successful Quarter Horse breeding farm, producing dozens of state champions, and he was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He had a passion for flying and was an instrument-rated pilot. He also enjoyed boating, appreciated live music, and loved movies.
Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his parents, William Curtis Jacobs & Edna Josephine Shipman Jacobs.
Surviving family members include his daughter and son-in-law, Karla & Guy Hargrove; His son and daughter-in-law, Keith & Janice Jacobs; His grandchildren: Meagan (Harris) Oates, Jackson Minor, and Pierce Jacobs; The mother of his children, Carolyn Jacobs.
At his request, there will be a private remembrance and his remains will be interred with his mother and father in Brundidge, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama. (https://www.bgcnal.com)
