Kay Frances Ables Stewart, age 82 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fayetteville, TN on June 23, 1940, to the late William Thomas “Tom” Ables and Lucille “Lucy” Fanning Ables. Kay was a homemaker by trade. She enjoyed cooking, working puzzles and was an avid reader of the Bible. She also liked to watch drama shows and reality tv. She is remembered as being a sweet, kind, and generous woman. Everyone loved her and called her “Granny.” She was of member of the Boulevard Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Stewart; son-in-law, Victor Cayton; grandson-in-law, Casey Payne; siblings, Tom A. Ables and Mary Ellen Beddingfield. Kay is survived by her daughter, Judy Cayton; son, Higgins Stewart; grandchildren, Candice (Scott) Dudley, Buster Cayton, Savannah Cayton, Ashley (Corey) Thurston; great grandchildren, Pepper, Brooke, Kaylee, Leah, Kolton, Wyatt, Emma, Grayson, Jenson and Melina; siblings, Doug Ables of Ohio, Jerry Ables of Fayetteville, TN, Shirley Peay of Michigan; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Stewart Cemetery, Fayetteville, TN.
