Katie Orene Jaggers Stegall

Katie Orene Jaggers Stegall, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on October 23, 2023 from an extended illness.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a self employed cosmetologist and homemaker.  She loved her Red Hat Club and her church family at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she served as church treasurer, Sunday school secretary/treasurer, assistant Bible school director and was a member of the choir for many years.  She was a faithful military spouse for 23 years, moving around the South and London, England with her husband and family.  She was well known for her excellent cooking skills, especially for her chicken and dressing.

Services will be at 11AM Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Hwy 41 South in Pontotoc. Bro. Fred Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors, children, Floyd Stegall, Jr. (Frank) of Marion, AR, Linda S. Tackett (Phillip), Kathy Stegall and Sharon Brown Stegall (Kevin); sister, Reba Sutter all of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Vanessa T. Bozeman (Jonathan) of Columbus, MS, Amanda T. Sorrells (Gary), Jessica T.  Smith (Rick) all of Pontotoc, MS, Crissy T. Lawson (Drew) of Fulton, MS, Melissa Tackett (Josh Box), Alex Brown, Draven Brown (Lakan) all of Pontotoc, MS, Haylea Brown Bates (Tyler) of Louisville, KY; eleven great grandchildren, David and Andrew Bozeman, Matthew and
Emma Sorrells, Zoey and Alana Smith, Tommy Lawson, Dakota and Harper Brown, Braxton and Dallas Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by, her husband of 44 years Floyd C. Stegall, Sr; parents, Ernest and Sally Mask Jaggers; brothers, Herman Shelly Jaggers and Ernest “Buck” Jaggers; and sisters, Modene Ball and Lucian Davis.

Pallbearers, her grandsons and great grandsons, Draven “Bubba” Brown, Jonathan, David and Andrew Bozeman, Gary and Matthew Sorrells, Rick Smith, Drew and Tommy Lawson, Josh Box and Tyler Bates.

Visitation, 5-8pm Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home and 10AM until service time Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
