Katie Mae Harvey, 80, of Corinth, Mississippi went to her eternal home on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at MS Care Center in Corinth, Mississippi. MS. Harvey was born June 16, 1944 to the late Albert and Hettie Johnson Harvey.
Ms. Harvey was a devout member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi. She enjoyed drinking coffee at K&K Truck Stop and really enjoyed visitors to join her. She spent her career working as a professional roofing installer, where she could out work most men. She made numerous quilts for her family and close friends. Ms. Harvey could also be found around a local race track rooting on her favorite drivers. Some would describe her as a “firecracker” or a “pistol,” most would just say she was a joy to be around. Katie loved her family and grandchildren, plus that boy! She will forever be missed and loved.
Ms. Harvey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin Harvey; son, Timmy Harvey; and brothers, Jimmy Bingham and Johnny Bingham.
Ms. Harvey is survived by her children, Tammie Harvey Rainey (Ken) and Kyle Harvey (Katy); sister-in-law, Mary Bivens; grandchildren, Megan Lewellen, Josh Harvey (Gina), Elizabeth Bingham (Jermael), Morgan Aultman (Cameron), Jennifer Kroth (Patrick), Lily Mae Harvey, and Nora Harvey; nine great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
There is a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon with Bro. David West Mooreland officiating. The family will accept friends from eleven o’clock in the morning until service time. The family has entrusted the care for the arrangements to McPeters Funeral Directors in Corinth, Mississippi. Pallbearers will be, Jermael Bingham, Cameron Aultman, Jesse Lancaster, Josh Harvey, Bubba McNeese, David Lee, and Codey Nunley.
