Mrs. Katie Lee Ray was born January 22, 1935, in Russellville, AL to the late Robert Lee and Mary Ludie McGuire. She departed this life September 22, 2024.
Katie attended Reedtown School in the Franklin County System, where she graduated.
She was united in marriage to Richard Ray.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Antioch CME Church where she remained a member until her passing. She was an avid Bible reader that often corrected her children and grandchildren with scripture. She cared for her aging parents until their deaths and then worked for Burns Nursing Home for 40 years, retiring at 82 years young.
Katie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Carroll McGuire, Andrew Sims McGuire and sister-in-law, Lucille McGuire (wife of Carroll).
Katie leaves behind to cherish her memories, sons: Lee Andrew McGuire (Arzealer), Randy Ray (Shelia), daughter: Mary Ray Hamilton (Bobby), grandkids: Yolanda Ray, Fadarris (Dez) Hamilton, Jovan McGuire, Kiyla Ray, Corey Hamilton, Andrea Hamilton, and great grandson Quan Hamilton (who could get her to do anything and was with her constantly). A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
