Katie Jo Woods departed this life on Friday morning, July 2, 2021 at her home in Bolivar.
She was born Tuesday, June 24, 1952, in Jackson, daughter of the late William Gilbert King and Mary Frances Overton King and lived in Memphis from 1954 until 1997 at which time she moved here. She was known for taking care of her nieces and nephews and any family member who was ill or needed care given. She enjoyed cooking and would often bake pies and other desserts for family and friends and hand them out for presents, especially at Christmas time. She received the greatest enjoyment from being around her grandson, whom she dearly loved.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Leah Woods (Michael Laws) of Bolivar; three brothers, Manley King of Saulsbury, Terry King of Memphis and Jerry King of Hernando, MS; and a grandson, Joshua Shane Woods. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Flint.
