A special southern lady, Katie Evelyn Ray Tate, age 92, of Meridianville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Judson Carl Tate. They loved life together for 68 years.
Her devoted survivors include her son, Ray Tate; daughter, Jan Tate Harvill; grandchildren, Russ (Virginia), Will, Carrie (fiance’ Mike Gross), Tate, and Elizabeth (Shelton); four great-grandchildren; sisters, Emma Sharpe and Corene Rogers; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous relatives in the Ray and Tate families.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 2nd from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Flint River Baptist Church and her memorial service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Donations may be made to Flint River Baptist Church in her sweet memory. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
