Ms. Kathy Ognen, 56, of Cullman, formerly of Callahan, FL, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her home with her family after an extended illness.
Ms. Ognen was born July 10, 1958, to parents Henry and Sonia McSwain.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa (David) Corbitt; two sons, Jesse McSwain and Marcus Thrailkill; two grandchildren, Chase Calhoun and Ashton Thrailkill; five brothers, Curtis Rash, Michael (Sherry) McSwain, Gerald McSwain, Stephen (Lori) McSwain, and Jon (Lena) McSwain.
Ms. Ognen requested no funeral services or memorial. She chose to donate her remains to the Forensic Anthropology Center at The University of Tennessee to help further forensic studies.
In lieu of flowers or cards, donations may be made to “Gammy’s Wish”, an account set up for her grandchild’s education, at Peoples Bank.
