Her career as a nurse was not just a job but a passion for her.  Kathy’s love for Jesus and others was evident in the way she lived and worked.  Her favorite chapters in the bible were Hebrews 11, 1 Corinthians 13 and the 91st Psalm.  Kathy was proud to be known as Meme by her family, patients, fellow nurses, and doctors that she worked alongside with daily.   Dr. Montgomery Berry and the staff at Ear, Nose and Throat in Tupelo, where she was honored to work many years, became a second family to Kathy.  During her illness, the nurses at Baptist Cancer in New Albany and Sanctuary Hospice made her proud of her chosen profession.

Kathy took great joy in her family.  She enjoyed nothing more than spending time and caring for her loved ones.  When at home, Kathy, loved cooking with her family, pruning her award-winning roses, and making her home a warm and inviting placefor all who visited.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pontotoc where she enjoyed her Sunday School class and a was a member of the Rose Society.

She will be remembered for her funny, loving spirit and her ability to enjoy life and make the most out of every day that her Lord gave her.  Those close with Kathy would describe her as a warrior and a hero. Kathy will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to be loved by her.
