Kathryn Sweetland Parvin, age 96, of Athens, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015. She was born to Ross and Kate Sweetland of Athens on February 24, 1919.
Services will be Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 2:00PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Klein officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 12:00PM until 1:45PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Parvin, her parents, and three brothers, Robert Sweetland, Billy Frances Sweetland, and Ross Sweetland Jr, all of Athens.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Jo Leonard of Athens, and her son Dr. Morris (Bud) White, also of Athens, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
She worked at Athens Florist for many years and was a faithful member of Eastside Church of Christ.
The family would like to express many heartfelt thanks to her loving caregivers; Jo Ann Brown, Helen Morrison, Jean Rogers, Katie Settle and Nancy Woods.
Flowers are welcome and donations can be made in her honor to Eastside Church of Christ, Hospice of Limestone County or CASA.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
