Kathryn J. Shannon

Kathryn J. Shannon, 67, of Hunstville, passed away on June 7, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on July 18, 1954. Better known as Kathy Shannon, she is remembered as a passionate daughter, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John W. Guthery; her grandmother, Rubie P. Guthery; her sister, Sherry Lynn Lewis; and her loving husband of 38 years, Eldon E. (Gene) Shannon.

Kathy led a full life. She was a firecracker of a woman with many life stories under her belt. She did everything from working at a young age in the sheriff’s office, to breeding and raising show horses. She was also a closing real estate secretary for 15 years until she had to retire due to losing her sight. Her southern charm and quick wit made those around her always laugh; or start a fight. She was as colorful and loud as her personality but always made sure to give out the best advice to anyone who needed it.

Kathy Shannon is survived by her mother, Mary Guthery Fields;  Brother Mark Partain , Daughter Amy L Williams , Son Chass E Shannon , and beloved daughter, Paula J. Shannon;  three grandchildren, Kayla S. Koepp, Katlynn Rae Marie Shannon, and Connor Wade Eugene Shannon; and four great grandchildren, Dante J. Pulido, Shane E. Pulido, Carina R. Koepp, and Blake T. Koepp.

Visitation will be held on June 11, 2022 at 10am to 11 am at BerryHill funeral home followed by services at 11am . Rick Reeder will be officiating. Kathy will be buried at Cameron cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Cancer Foundation. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time
