Kathryn Anne Grigsby, 72, of Florence, passed away April 13, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness. Anne was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker and a faithful Christian. She was an active member of the Chisholm Hills Church of Christ. Anne was active in the children’s bible school program and other areas of evangelism. When her health began to fail she used her cooking skills to begin a ministry of baking fresh bread every week and giving a loaf to each visitor at the Sunday morning worship service. Because of this ministry she was affectionately known as the “bread lady”.
Mrs. Grigsby was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Kathryn Nell Mason.
She is survived by her husband of over 51 years, James K. Grigsby “Jim”; son, Dr. James Robert Grigsby “Bobby” and wife, Dr. Bonnie Grigsby, of Mocksville, N.C.; daughter, Mary Kathryn Clark “Kathy” and husband, Jeff Clark; two wonderful grandchildren, Hope and Jack Clark, all of Florence; brothers, Fred Mason (Kay), of Sheffield, and Joe Mason (Sharon), of Chipley, Fla.; and sister, Marilyn Mason, of San Jose, Calif.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from noon-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Charles Abernathy, the pulpit minister of the Chisholm Hills Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Florence City Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jayson Foote, Phillip Marks, Chris White, David Willis, Ed Smith, and Larry Martin.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Mann for his care over the many years she struggled with this disease and the Gentiva Hospice team, especially RN Rosa Darby, for their care during her final months.

She was a wonderful woman, a great Christian role model and she will be incredibly missed! I will miss her smiling face, kind words, warm hugs and wonderful bread.
She was a sweetheart of a lady, and will be thought of fondly in times to come.
