Kathleen V. Simmons departed this life on November 6, 2014 at her home in Finger, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 26 Days. She was born October 11, 1936 in Perry, FL the daughter of the late Lester and Bessie Hunter Bennett.
She was united in marriage to Joel Mann Simmons, Sr. Mr. Simmons preceded her in death on August 5, 1984.
Kathleen was a wonderful homemaker and mother of five children. Her family always looked forward to the abundant holiday dinners that she cooked. She attended Rocky Knob Church for many years and was a Sunday School Teacher.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Lee Simmons of Finger, TN; ten grandchildren, Sherry Kirkman, Terry Kirkman, Candice Kirkman, Jerry Kirkman, Ivan Kirkman, John Kirkman, Leah Gunn, Jason Mitchell, Wayne Simmons, Lincoln Simmons; two great-grandchildren; one great-great- granddaughter and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kaye Kirkman; three sons, Joel M. Simmons Jr., Phillip W. Simmons, Paul D. Simmons; a brother, Kenneth Bennett. She also had a sister, Sarah Moore.
