Kathleen McGuire Bacurin, age 96, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she moved with her family to Lawrenceburg, Tennessee in 1957. She was a homemaker, who especially enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was active in her children’s lives, serving as a Girl Scouts troop leader, as well as participating in many other school activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Cecelia Gibbons McGuire; husband, John Joseph Bacurin; sister, Cecelia Piskunoff; brothers, Ed McGuire and Ken McGuire; son, Tom Bacurin; sons-in-law, Bob Johnson and Tom Woelfel.

She is survived by one son, John Edward Bacurin (Melinda) of Murfreesboro, TN; two daughters, Linda Johnson of Jonesboro, AR, and Kathy Woelfel of Riverside, CA; daughter-in-law, Shari Bacurin of Evansville, IN; one sister, Marie DiFranco of Euclid, OH; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff members at AdamsPlace Assisted Living and Alive Hospice for their loving care.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg at 10:30 AM Friday, January 12, 2024, with Father Andrew Forsythe officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg, TN.
