Katherine Howell, 96, of Cloverport
Mrs. Howell passed from this life on Sunday morning, September 6, 2015 at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar.
A native of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Lacey and Cercie Willoughby Thornton. She lived all of her life here. On August 12, 1939, she married Bro. Alvin Edward Howell. They were together for 61 years before his death April 13, 2001. Mrs. Howell served actively with her husband during his tenure as a Baptist minister. She was a member of the Cloverport Baptist Church. A retired Hardeman County Schools bus driver, she also worked at Vaughan Hardware in Bolivar.
She leaves three sisters Janis King and Margie Clayton of Cloverport and Georgia (John) Hillhouse of Jackson; a son-in-law, Bill Grissom of Crossville and two granddaughters, Diane and Karen.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Faye Grissom; a sister, Lillian Chandler; and two brothers, Earnest and Hubert Thornton.
