Katherine Ann Evans Harris Wyatt, age 86, passed away April 22, 2024 at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born August 17, 1937, in McNary County and reared in Chester County. She was one of five children born to the late Rev L.D. and Mattie Ray Evans.
She attended school in Chester County, graduating in 1956.
After graduation, she married W.V. Harris, Jr and they made their home in Henderson, Tennessee.
She was employed with Salant and Salant for most of her life. She later became a nurse’s aide with the Chester County Nursing Home prior to retirement.
She was a “preacher’s kid” that loved her family to experience everything… from church, to scouts and musical instruments to tap dancing, she loved all sports and coached from the stand!
She was a 50-year active member of the of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an active and long time Sunday School teacher at Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
After Jr’s death in 1988, she remarried to Billy Wyatt in 2001 and they made their home in the Chickasaw area until his death in 2016. She dearly loved Billy’s children Harold, Bobbie, Ruby, David, Jerry, Susie, Billy Glen and Tommy like they were hers.
Katherine is survived by two sons, Rev Glenn Harris (Judy) of Henderson and John Harris (Kelly) of Bluffton, S.C.; one daughter Becky Keen (Les) of Henderson; five grandchildren Kirbi Fahs (Josh), Dallas Cook (Jared), Blake Harris (Anna), Bethany Harris, Brittany Harris; three great grandchildren, Jackson Fahs, Piper Fahs and Saylor Cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Junior Harris in 1988, husband Billy Wyatt in 2016, two brothers Billy Evans and Alton Evans; 2 sisters Ruth Hall and Maxine Hardin; Two grandsons, Ryan Glenn Harris and Les Alan Keen.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, April 28th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Les Keen and Glenn Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday and beginning at 12 Noon on Sunday until service time.
