Karen Hensley Terry – Obituary

Karen Hensley Terry age 75 of Florence passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2015 at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence from 12:00 P.M. till 2:00 P.M. Services will follow in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Frank Mills officiating. Burial will be held private at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, William Roscoe Hensley and Lavern Cody Hensley Brackin.

She is survived by her children, Jan (Billy) Pierce and Greg (Patti) Terry. Grandchildren, Hensley Pierce, Annie Pierce, Sydney Terry and Lane Terry. Sisters, Linda (Frank) Foust and Debbie (Mike) Prescott. And a number of nieces and nephews along with special cousin Bobby Carter.

Karen was “Class of 1958” of Hazelwood High School in Town Creek, Alabama. She was a member of Crosspoint Church of Christ. Involved in the Ladies Jail Ministry and Crosspoint Benevolence program. She enjoyed baking goodies to share, family beach vacations, organizing family gatherings and not missing one activity with her grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Foust, Brad Foust, Chris Brackin, Bart King, Brittnea Horton, Matthew Terry and Clay Carpenter.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Webb and the staff at ECM.

Memorial Donations may be made to Mars Hill Bible School and/or Crosspoint Benevolence Program.

Karen understood that she had been given the wonderful privilege of showing God’s Love to all the people who crossed her path. She used her God given gifts for his Glory; to spread joy and encouragement to all who knew her.

Psalm 119: 76 – 77 (ESV) Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant. Let your mercy come to me, that I may live; For your law is my delight.
