Karen Garner-O’Roark, 76, of Lebanon, TN, passed away on August 19, 2023. She was born on December 17, 1946, in Lebanon, TN, to Ernest and Lois Weatherly. Karen was a loving and kind-hearted woman who was known for her hard work, determination, generosity, loyalty, and intelligence. She held a deep love for the Lord, her family, friends, and coworkers.
Karen attended Lebanon High School and went on to pursue higher education at Cumberland University and The University of Phoenix. She had a successful career as an executive secretary at Toshiba from 1983 to 2007, where she showcased her proficiency in the Japanese language. Karen later worked as an administrative assistant for the State of TN Office of Inspector General from 2012 to 2017.
Outside of her professional life, Karen had a wide range of hobbies and interests. She was an avid equestrian, enjoyed skiing both on snow and water, and had a passion for painting. She also loved traveling and exploring new places.
Karen was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, TN, where she worshipped.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband, Donald O’Roark; her children, Erin Smith (Justin) and Leeanna McEntyre (Blake); her grandchildren, Sofi Smith and Lois McEntyre; her sister, Darlene Enzfelder (Gary); her niece, Joy Pine (David), and her nephew, Glen Enzfelder. Also, great nieces Ella, Cece and Eden Pine. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lois Weatherly.
Visitation will be held on August 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, TN, followed by a funeral service at the same location. Karen will be laid to rest at Barton’s Creek Cemetery in Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Karen’s memory to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Karen’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
