JW Whitehead Profile Photo JW Whitehead (Jake) passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at his residence in Belfast, TN while surrounded by his family after being diagnosed with dementia that progressed very quickly and ended his life.

JW was born on May 25, 1944, to Benton and Betty Whitehead. On November 16, 1968, he married his wife of 56 years Mary Linda Gower Whitehead. They spent most of their life together in Belfast, TN where they still currently reside.

He retired after driving a feed truck at Marshall Farmers Co-op in Lewisburg, TN after 48 years of employment. In his free time, he enjoyed early morning walks, mowing his yard, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. JW was a family man who valued honesty, structure, hard work, and sacrifice, and lived by the integrity of his word. He was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Linda Gower Whitehead; one son, Darrell Davis, two daughters, Jackie Johnson and Tracy (Barry) Spivey, one brother, James (Betty) Whitehead, six grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Davis; his brother, Sonny Whitehead; and sister Ruby Calahan.

Visitation will be at Bills-McGaugh and Hamilton Funeral Home Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 28, 2024, and continue until the funeral hour of 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Sunset Park.
