JW Thrasher, 79, Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, January 28, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Monday, January 29, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jimmy Thrasher officiating. Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Leighton.
JW was a lifelong resident of Colbert County and a member of Hook Street Baptist Church, Tuscumbia. He worked at Walker Lumber Company and Northwest Shoals Community College. JW was preceded in death by his father, JD Thrasher; mother, Geradine Thrasher; sister, Sandra Williams (Harry); brother, Wayne Thrasher (Shirley); sister-in-law, Faye Thrasher; nephew, Mark Thrasher; and grandparents, Dellie and Marvin Thrasher.
JW is survived by his brother, Tom Thrasher; nephews, Jimmy (Melissa), Victor, Timothy, and Joey; nieces, Misty and Theresa (Albert); great-nephew, Justin; and great-nieces, Tiffany and Molly Blake.
Pallbearers will be Blake King, Justin McGuyer, Darrell Fuller, Randal Fuller, Steve Johnson, and Donnie Johnson. Kippton King and Willie McGuyer will serve as honorary pallbearers.
