According to Billy Warren, that’s a long time for events like this one to continue. He told the guests at Florence-Lauderdale Tourism headquarters yesterday. “They just don’t last more than six or seven years. But our people are special. They’re hard working and enthusiastic. and they love what they do,” he said.Stained-Glass Window

This year’s poster was unveiled. ย Alice Cook, who produced the artwork said, “I loved the idea of using the image of an original work of art from the 16th century for the faire poster. ย Since this is the 30th year for the Alabama Renaissance Faire, I felt we needed something authentic to represent this special occasion. What better choice than a beautiful stained-glass window by Valentin Bousch.โ€ย The image Alice selected for the Renaissance Faire poster is a stained-glass window entitled “Moses Presenting the Tablets of Law” by a Frenchman named Valentin Bousch. He lived from 1514-1541. He created the window in 1532. It hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. “That’s where I got a picture of it,” she said.

The 2016 Renaissance Faire is set for this October 22 through the 23rd.
