June Carolyn Wamble Milam was born on November 1, 1937, in Jackson, TN, to Ed and Lois Walker Wamble. She came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ at an early age at Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, TN. In 1954 she was united in marriage to Jerry Milam and would have celebrated 70 years of marriage In November. Together they raised their family at Englewood Baptist Church and have remained faithful members for over 60 years. They enjoyed many gatherings with their church family over the years and both served in various roles in the church. In addition to raising her family and serving in her church, she also worked for many years at Sears department store.

June enjoyed summers with family camping and boating on the Tennessee River and, later, she and Jerry enjoyed many years traveling across the United States. She loved reading and gardening, ultimately becoming a Master Gardener, but her greatest joy was her family. An example of Southern hospitality, June loved to cook and have family at the dinner table. A devoted and loving wife and mother, she will be remembered for her contagious laughter, encouraging words, and unconditional love.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Don Milam, and her daughter, Melissa Hopper (Steve). June and Jerry were blessed with five grandchildren, Hailey David (Matthew), John Thomas Hopper (Christie), Jerri Anne Edwards (Mike), Molly Johnson, and Emily Lewis (Rich). They also were blessed with eight great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a number of beloved nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ida May Cox, and Annie Rea Phillips.

SERVICES: A service to celebrate the life of June will be held at Arrington Funeral Home on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 11:00, with visitation beginning at 10:00. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Don Milam, Steve Hopper, John Thomas Hopper, Matthew David, Wyatt David, and Mike Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be directed to Alzheimer’s Association and Gideons International, Jackson Camp, 30 Sutton Place, Jackson, TN 38305.
