Julie Askew Thompson, 36, of Tuscumbia, AL, entered into the perfect peace of her Heavenly Father on April 2, 2013.
She was born at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, AL on February 23, 1977 to Lyle and Linda Askew. Julie graduated from Muscle Shoals High School, and went on to receive a degree in Commercial Music at the University of North Alabama. She was married to Louis “Scott” Thompson on April 2, 1998.
Julie’s life was a beautiful representation of the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ, her Savior. She was a wonderful daughter, a loving and supportive wife, a “Super-mom” to her children, as well as an endearing family member and trusted friend to so many. Julie loved her church, Grace Life Church of the Shoals, and served the Lord faithfully through it. She was a key part of the Sheffield Swim team, where she spent a lot of her time supporting her three oldest children. Serving her family is what she loved most. She was commonly referred to as “super-mom” because of the way she was able to juggle so many responsibilities. Julie had a passion for music, and was an accomplished musician. She loved inspiring and teaching her children in their love for music as well. Her mission was evident in the way she taught and disciplined her children, to have them love the Lord and serve Him faithfully. She did all these things to the glory of God.
She is preceded in death by Her grandfather Robert Eugene Askew Sr. and her Uncle Robert “Buddy” Askew, Jr.
She leaves behind her beloved husband Scott Thompson, and five beautiful children, Isabella Nicole Thompson, 13; Rosemary Jule Thompson, 7; Oliver Scott Thompson, 6; Vivienne Simone Thompson 2; and Anne Genevieve Thompson 15 months; all of Tuscumbia, AL.
