Julianne Merryman departed this life peacefully on August 15, 2024, in Jackson, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 5, 1938, in Jefferson, Iowa to the late Keith K. and Irene Dozier Young.
She started her educational journey at Sax City High School and continued her studies at Kearney State College, now known as University of Nebraska Kearney. Julianne’s pursuit of knowledge was a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning and growing. Her journey through life was marked by her dedication to empowering women in the church. Serving as a Christian Education Leader, she blazed a trail for many females aspiring to pastoral roles today. Her impact on the spiritual community will be felt for generations to come.
Julianne’s personality was one of organization and foresight. A natural planner, she was known for her attention to detail and her ability to lead with a gentle but firm hand. Her love for gardening, reading, and spending summers at the family’s cottage in Iowa spoke to her appreciation for simple pleasures and the beauty of nature.
One of Julianne’s proudest accomplishments was her family. Above all else, she cherished her children and the time spent with them. Her love and devotion to her family shone through in all aspects of her life, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew her.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
