Julian Wade Sullivan, age 84 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Franklin Manor. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on May 11, 1938 to the late Daniel Webster and Mary Ruth (Young) Sullivan. He was a 1956 graduate of Franklin County High School. Julian proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class from 1956-1960. During that time, he was stationed in Washington D.C., Turkey, Greenville, South Carolina, and Orlando, Florida. Julian also served in the Army National Guard from 1973-1974. Before his retirement, he had been employed for over thirty-seven years as a fireman and instrument technician at AEDC. Julian enjoyed taking camping trips with his wife and family, but he most cherished the time spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Carl Sullivan. Julian is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years (on January 14), Sylvia Sullivan; son, Kenneth (Tammy) Sullivan; grandchildren, Matthew (Lana) Sullivan, and Jamie (Meghan) Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Eli, Luke, Nola, Radnor, Sunny, and Eisleigh; sister, Kay Robertson; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Anna Brockman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery.
