Julian Wade Sullivan, age 84 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Franklin Manor. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on May 11, 1938 to the late Daniel Webster and Mary Ruth (Young) Sullivan. He was a 1956 graduate of Franklin County High School. Julian proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class from 1956-1960. During that time, he was stationed in Washington D.C., Turkey, Greenville, South Carolina, and Orlando, Florida. Julian also served in the Army National Guard from 1973-1974. Before his retirement, he had been employed for over thirty-seven years as a fireman and instrument technician at AEDC. Julian enjoyed taking camping trips with his wife and family, but he most cherished the time spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Carl Sullivan. Julian is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years (on January 14), Sylvia Sullivan; son, Kenneth (Tammy) Sullivan; grandchildren, Matthew (Lana) Sullivan, and Jamie (Meghan) Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Eli, Luke, Nola, Radnor, Sunny, and Eisleigh; sister, Kay Robertson; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Anna Brockman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Eagles’ Wings Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 12379 Eagles’ Wings Drive, Coker, AL 35452.
