Julian Colcord Thompson

Julian Colcord Thompson, known as Red to his friends, passed away after a brief illness on Oct. 12, 2024. He had been a resident of Jacksonville Health & Rehab since 2020.
Born in Anniston AL on October 8, 1930 to James Colcord Thompson (Tommy) and Ruby Capps Thompson he later worked many years as a long haul truck driver, and was an avid racing fan, driving at the old Anniston Speedway in the 1940’s & 50’s. He was married to Joan Newcomb Thompson and had two daughters, Julie Thompson Hope (Don) and Tina Gayle Thompson Smith (Brandon).
Julian is survived by his daughters and four grandchildren Caryn Hope Watts, Nate Smith, Joe Smith and Noah Smith, and 3 great grandchildren Dylan Pontero. Jace Waugh, and Kaid Smith.
