Julia T. Bailey age 71 of Athens, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. Bailey was born November 6, 1941 in Limestone County to Theo Tunstill and Imogene Stovall Tunstill.
Services will be Tuesday, June 18, 2013 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Jay Looney, Everett Conn and Jimmy Clark officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sardis Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of The Church of Christ. She was retired from Limestone County Schools after 25 years; she is a graduate of Elkmont High School and Athens State University. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Imogene Tunstill; granddaughter, Misty Looney.
Survived by her husband, James D. Bailey of Athens; four daughters, Melissa Looney and husband, Tim of Concord, NC, Angela Barnes and husband, Ted, Anita Weaver and husband, Brian, and Jamie Norris and husband, David all of Athens; nine grandchildren, Jay Looney, Brandon Looney, Mandy Tucker, Magen Barnes, Drew Weaver, Matthew Barnes, Preston Weaver, David Wayne Norris and Julia Norris; four great-grandchildren, Bryson Looney, Kynsley Looney, Kagan Tucker and Baylee Tucker; two brothers, Jim Tunstill and wife, Peggy and Al Tunstill both of Athens; sister, Nancy Norman of Athens; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Drew Weaver, Preston Weaver, David Wayne Norris, Matthew Barnes, Brandon Looney, Jim Bo Colwell, Al Tunstill, Jim Tunstill and Eric Tucker.
