It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julia Fay Tolbert, aged 79, of Athens, who left us on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at her residence. Born on March 19th, 1946, in Hanceville, Alabama, Ms. Tolbert was a beloved member of her community and family.
Known for her sweet and kind nature, Julia Fay Tolbert was a cherished figure to all who knew her. She spent over 20 years working at Calhoun Community College, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and dedication.
Julia is survived by a loving family, including her granddaughter Abigale Jones and husband Jacob, her sister Debra Murphy and husband Richard, her sister-in-law Jane Tolbert, and her great-granddaughter Kelly Jones. These family members were a source of great joy in her life, and she held them close to her heart.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Arica Jones, son-in-law Mark Jones, and her brother Darrell Tolbert.
A graveside service to honor Ms. Tolbert’s life will be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Limestone Memorial Gardens. The service will be officiated by Jeremy Meetze.
