Julia Boyd Lee (Judy) Moore Julia Boyd Lee (Judy) Moore was born on November 9, 1937, in Albany, Georgia and died on January 27, 2025, in Montgomery, Alabama aged 87 years old.

She was the daughter of Gospel Preacher Irven Lee and Otha Lowe Stubblefield Lee. She was married to Gospel Preacher George Wayne Moore from 1961 until his death in 1997 and never remarried. She graduated from Athens Bible School and also attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. She taught elementary school at Madison Cross Roads Elementary School (late 1960s) and at Athens Bible School (early 1970s) for a few years. After this, she worked at Onan Engine Plant in Huntsville for 23 years before retiring from there. As a Gospel Preacher’s wife and Gospel Preacher’s daughter, she put the kingdom first and taught many Women’s Bible Classes and Children’s Bible Classes at Sunny Hill Church of Christ, South Fayetteville Church of Christ, Harvest Church of Christ, New Georgia Church of Christ, Valley View Church of Christ, Jennings Chapel Church of Christ, and at Eastside Church of Christ. Into her 70s and early 80s she tutored our Hispanic friends from Mexico and Guatemala in English and was pleased to be an honorary grandmother to their children; she also a part of a group that went to nursing homes in Athens and Ardmore to sing.

Judy Moore is survived by her two sons Kirk Moore (wife Lily) of Montgomery, Alabama and Kevan Moore of Toney, Alabama; and her two grandchildren – Andrew Moore and Amy Moore of Montgomery; also, her niece Laura Waldron Black of Dade City, Florida and nephew Ryan Waldron of Athens, Alabama and their families.

Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be Friday, January 31st, 2025, at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, January 30th, from 6:00-9:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
