Mrs. Judy Parris, age 77, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on March 5, 2024. Judy was born on March 21, 1946 to the late Roy and Iver Smith of Boaz, AL.
Judy was a graduate of Boaz High School and married Dale Parris in 1964. She was devoted to church, family, community and working with Dale on the family farm, Hillside Angus Farm. Throughout her adult life Judy attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school Treasurer, Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible school teacher and worked tirelessly on Christmas plays and fish fry’s. Judy’s family was large and remained close to her heart – she was a beloved wife, mother and aunt. She sewed Halloween costumes, drove carpool, and attended every event possible that involved kids, grandkids or Dale. Judy was an active member of the Community involved in the homemakers club, a poll worker during election times and volunteer caretaker to the community center. She loved the farm, being outdoors, cutting grass, working in her garden or caring for her animals. Judy was an active member of the Alabama Angus Association Women’s Auxilliary where she worked hard to raise money for scholarships and support youth activities.
Many friends and former students will remember Judy from many years of substitute teaching at Albertville High school, where she enjoyed interacting with the students and teachers. Her vibrant personality will be missed greatly. Judy ‘never met a stranger’ and loved talking with people. She loved vacationing in the mountains and never ceased to find wonder and amazement in nature.
