Judy Hobbs Jenkins Judy Hobbs Jenkins, age 75, of Sheffield, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, April 16, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Sheffield Methodist Church. The service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bart Bowlin officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.

Judy was born on December 11, 1948, to the late Nick and Mildred Renfroe Hobbs. Mrs. Jenkins was a lifelong member of Sheffield Methodist Church. She was a retired registered nurse with TVA and was one of the first occupational health nurses in Alabama. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels of the Shoals for over 20 years. Mrs. Jenkins enjoyed gardening, cooking, and walking in her neighborhood, however her pride and joy were her wonderful grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, William Olin Jenkins, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Alison Lindsey (Joey); grandson, William Lindsey (Kristen); granddaughter, Taylor Lindsey Harrison (Devin); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Will Lindsey, Devin Harrison, Tim DeMorse, Jeff Box, Ben McCaig, and Nicky Hobbs. Charlie Grimmitt, Dennis Hudson, and Jimmy Askew will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family offers special thanks to the staffs of Green Oaks Inn, J.W. Sommer Rehab., Cottage of the Shoals, and Helen Keller Hospital, and to Dr. Vacik for the excellent care provided to Mrs. Jenkins.
