Judy Hays Curtis, 77, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born July 1, 1946, to Lloyd C. and Frances Schrimsher Hays.
Mrs. Curtis enjoyed traveling, as well as spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Curtis was survived by her husband of 24 years, John T. Curtis of Decatur, Alabama; six children, Julie Livingston Gore (Glenn) of Camden, Mississippi; Karen Livingston Sparkman of Madison, Alabama; Lori Livingston Dudley (Benny) of Somerville, Alabama; Valerie Curtis of Hartselle, Alabama; Kim Curtis Jinks (Mark) of Decatur, Alabama; and Stephanie Curtis Collins (Scott) of Southside, Alabama; eleven grandchildren, Michelle Gore Coleman (Blake) of Benton, Mississippi; Michael Gore of Camden, Mississippi; Daniel Sparkman (Becca) of Danville, Alabama; Justin Sparkman of Huntsville, Alabama; Chloe Henson of Somerville, Alabama; Cole Henson of Somerville, Alabama; Andrew Rutherford of Decatur, Alabama; Haley Harris (Clay) of Decatur, Alabama; Taylor French (Brandon) of Madison, Alabama; Shelby Epps of Seattle, Washington; and Luke Epps of Southside, Alabama; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Hays (Carol) of Athens, Alabama; and Kenny Hays (Lynn) of Owensville, Missouri.
Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Ramona Ann Livingston; one sister, Patsy Hays Ward; and one brother, Don Hays.
The family had a Graveside Service at Decatur City Cemetery on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Raymond Bishop officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Andrew, Blake, Michael, Daniel, Justin, Cole, and Luke. Shelton Funeral Home assisted the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Cardiology Clinic at The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital.
