Judy Gullion Willis, age 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 26, 2024.
Born into a military family, Judy grew up traveling and learned early on that home is where family is. She was the strongest woman we knew, facing and overcoming incredible challenges in her life, including cancer in 1999 and brain tumors in 2009.
Determined to support her family while remaining a devoted mother, Judy opened her own successful salon business. She poured her heart into her work, but her battle with cancer in 1999 led her to close the salon in 2000 so she could focus on her health and family.
Judy was the rock of her family—steadfast, loving, and always ready to come running whenever someone needed her. Her unwavering strength and selflessness defined her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert G. Willis; daughter, Ashley Taylor, and son-in-law, Tracy Taylor; stepdaughter, Leslie Willis; stepson, Bobby Willis; beloved granddaughters, Monica and Brooklyn; brother, Robert Gullion (Shirley); nieces, Christy and Taylor; and nephews, Mark, Dallas, Mathew, Carter, Brooks, Knox, and Elliot. She will be forever cherished in our hearts. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Elga Gullion.
Judy’s family invites those who knew and loved her to join them in celebrating her life at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Sunday, December 29, 2024. The family will greet friends and guests for a visitation from 12:00 until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00. Burial will be in the Mount Olive Church Cemetery in Morgan City. The Pallbearers will be Tracy Taylor, Mark Gullion, Matthew McGill, Walter Humphries, Zach Humphries and Carter Gullion. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
