 Judy Beavers McDougal, age 71, of Gadsden passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021. Judy was a graduate of Gadsden High School and worked at Gadsden Regional Medical Center for over forty years. Judy was a faithful servant of Christ and a dedicated member of North Glencoe Baptist Church for many years. Some of her greatest joys in life were spending time at the lake, fishing, riding boats, playing Mexican Train Dominoes, and watching Alabama football. Judy had a boundless love for family and loved nothing more than the time she spent with them. Judy is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Beavers; parents, Boyd and Hazel Smith; and her late husband, Larry Beavers. She is survived by her husband, Newman McDougal (Jimmy); daughter, Megan (Jonathan) Hood; grandson, Holland Hood; Siblings: Lyndia Sims, Dianne (Jackie) McNutt, Paula (Greg) Beshears, and Don (Rebecca) Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on April 12 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM, with a celebration of life service immediately following officiated by Dr. Rodney Gilmore. Judy’s burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
