Judy Ann Gasaway Hood, 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 10, 2024. She was a resident at The Meadows of Fulton. She was born August 17, 1950, in Tishomingo County, the eleventh of fifteen children born to John Manuel and Exie Maxwell Gasaway. She spent most of her life working for Genesco, or commonly referred to as “The Shoe Plant.” She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her family fiercely. She always enjoyed cooking for anybody who walked through her door.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Joseph Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Josh of Fulton and Danny Hood (Kim) of Tremont; one daughter, Shelly Green (Rodney) of Tremont; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Hood, Cindy Hood, and Alayna; and four great-grandchildren, Gracie, Junior, Addy, and Kooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jackie Vester Hood; one son, James “Roy” Hood; her parents; three brothers, Julius Gasaway, Jimmy Gasaway, and Billy Gasaway; and eleven sisters, Ruth Nunley, Lona Belle Johnson, Faye Whitehead, Johnnie Sue Owens, Frankie Lou Carter, Dorothy Carter, Barbara Gentry, Bonnie Adams, Carolyn Sparks, Janice Harmon, and Linda Cox.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
