Judith (Judi) Lee Richard-Novak

Judith (Judi) Lee Richard-Novak, 82, of Florence, Alabama, died peacefully with her husband Charles Novak at her side, on December 9, 2023, after succumbing to a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Springfield Ohio to Ralph and Eileen Lewis. She graduated from Springfield High School whose career path included managing the vision center for a major chain as well as serving as office manager for her husband’s Audiology practice. She enjoyed her role in the Ladies Oriental Shrine and was honored to hold the position of High Priestess. Member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Florence, AL.

Judi was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her life wherever she lived including Ohio, Maryland, Florida, and Alabama.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Eileen Lewis, her husband Elsworth Richard and her great grandson Allen James Cresto.

She is survived by her devoted husband of almost fifty years Charles Novak, daughters Toni Lee Lewis of Carbondale, IL, Kerri Lynn McTigue of Bradenton, FL; and son David Richard of Ocala, FL, and sisters Janice Dean of Norwalk, OH, Patricia Trickett of Norwalk, OH and brother and sister-in-law Harold and Tricia Lewis of Florence, AL.

Grandchildren include Toni Lee’s children Andrew Seaton, Britteney Bedell, Joseph (Deann Lynn) Cresto; Kerri Lynn’s children Kurt (Stacy) Richard and Austin (Lauren) Drake; David’s children Piper Bedell. Great Grandchildren include Kayla King, Ember Richard, Grayson Drake, Bryce Bedell and a host of nieces and nephews.

We want to thank the nurses and palliative care team at Helen Keller Hospital for their support, care, and understanding during the final stages of Judi’s life. We also want to thank Pastor Lanier Nail of The Church of the Good Shepherd for his spiritual guidance of God’s plans for tomorrow.

Memorial service is to be held on Saturday January 27 at 2 PM at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 2001 Cloyd Blvd Florence, AL, Pastor Lanier Nail officiating.
