Judith C. Mixon 83, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 25, 1934 in Rockhill, South Carolina to Norman and Edna Mae Childers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Dean Mixon Sr.; son, Norman Scott Mixon and grandson, James David Mixon Jr.
She is survived by her three sons, Melvin Dean Mixon Jr. (Christine), James David Mixon (Becky) and Samuel Steven Mixon; one brother, Butch Childers and one sister, Nancy Tinker; two grandchildren, Hunter Arnold (Heather) and Whitney Mixon and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Decatur followed by a 11 a.m. church service. Burial will follow in Decatur City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
