Judith C. Beason, 71, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 12:30-2:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel with Mr. Carey Mayes officiating. A burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery for the family immediately following the service. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Judi was born in Gadsden, Alabama on February 9, 1949 to the late Martin Luther Chaffin and Catherine H. Chaffin. Judi graduated from Gadsden High School in 1967. She attended Jacksonville State University where she graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a dedicated teacher that taught in several locations but spent the majority of her career teaching in the Birmingham City Schools District. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, David W. Beason; son, Baylor L. Dennis; daughter, Margaret B. Stanley (Kris); grandson, Karter D. Stanley; sisters, Mary Kelley, Betty Ann Nunn (Mike), Gloria Stevens; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be close friends and family.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the The Humane Society Pet Rescue and Adoption Center at http://hsprac.com/donate-support-the-shelter/ or your favorite charity.

The family will be following COVID-19 guidelines and ask that all attendees wear a mask and practice 6 feet of social distancing.
