Funeral service for Judith Ann Bates, 82, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m., Friday, August 25th, 2023 at Bethsadia Baptist Church, Rev. Truman Davis officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 12-1 prior to the service. The visitation for Mrs. Bates will be Thursday evening at Cullman Funeral Home from 5:30 – 8 p.m.

Mrs. Bates passed away Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023 at CRMC. She was born January 24, 1941 to James Harvey & Lola Josephine Simonton Cobbs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewitt Bates; brother, Harvey Cobbs; nephew, David Cobbs; grandchildren, Heather Bates, Alexandria Bates.
Survivors include her sons, Bruce (Debbie) Bates, Brian (Sarah) Bates; daughter, Denise (Jim) Phillips; sister-in-law, Joyce Cobbs; niece, Kelly Sue Cobbs; nephew, Kevin (Stacie) Cobbs; great nieces and nephew, Gracie, Hannah & Caden Cobbs; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Gorham, Jake (Mandi) Phillips, Mark (Katie Jo) Bates, Dustin Venz, Brent Mitchell (Lenae) Bates, Ella Bates, Colt Bates; great-grandchildren, Jacy Gorham, Jayla Gorham, Jaron Gorham, Cameron Phillips, Chase Phillips, Aiden Jimenez, Witt Bates, Matthew Venz, Evelyn Bates, Bryce Bates; family and friends.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
