Memorial service for Juanita S. Kuykendall, 72, of Decatur, will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Decatur. The Rev. Harold Fanning will be officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Kuykendall died on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at her residence. She was born July 16, 1941, in Washington D.C. to Ashton Bennett Cannon and Lillian Mentred Batten Cannon. She was retired from the Public School System of Montgomery County, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Bud) Kuykendall.
She is survived by her son, James (Buddy) Kuykendall, Jr., Silver Springs, MD; two daughters, Lillian Michele Kuykendall and Cheryl Vaughn, Hartselle; one brother, Ashton Bennett Cannon, Jr. of Florida; one sister, Priscilla Wagner, Decatur; and five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church of Decatur.
