F.7.10.24 Juanita Reeves.jpgJuanita Reeves, 99, of Cherokee, Alabama, passed away peacefully Monday, July 8, 2024. Visitation will be Thursday, July 11th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a graveside service Friday, July 12th at 10:00 a.m. in McGlamery Stand Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee. John Dial will be officiating.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Douglas Reeves; parents, Flora (Copeland) Jones, Marshall Jones; brothers, Warren and Marshall Jones; sisters, Nell Berry, Jean Jaynes, and Veda Wright. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Meyer (Peter); son, Joey Reeves (Joanne); grandchildren, Jessica Sharps (Mike), and Walker Reeves (Skyylar).

She was a longtime resident of Cherokee and a member of the Methodist church. Juanita was a member of the Homemakers Club, and she quilted for many years making keepsakes for family and friends. She loved entertaining and cooking and having people around her. Her love of life was infectious. She would surround herself with flowers and always got a thrill out of seeing the birds around her, believing they were a special gift from God. She was always involved in making the life of those around her better.

The family would like to thank those who cared for our mother through the years, with special thanks to Cheryl Collumn, Ruby Smith, Kathrin Wright, and Mary Jo Corsbie.

Donations may be made in memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
