Mrs. Juanita McPeake Bedwell, age 89, passed away late Monday, February 19, 2024 in Lexington. She was born January 19, 1935 in Henderson County to the late George Milam and Mary Sue Hart McPeake. She married Wilton Bedwell on July 19, 1950 and together they raised 5 children as well as serving as “community parents” to many. They always welcomed any and all that came to their door and loved each and every one of them and treated them as their own. She retired from Walmart after over 40 years of service. She had a strong faith in God and raised her children to also. She will be dearly missed, for a mother’s love is like no other.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Bedwell; one son, Jeffery Bedwell; one grandson, Caleb Bedwell; brother, James Roy “Bud” McPeake; and sister, Mary Ella Maness.
Survivors include her two sons, Kenny Bedwell and Bradley Bedwell (Tammi); two daughters, Linda Lindsey (James) and Kathy Woods (Benny); her sister, Brenda Casey (Dwight); nine grandchildren, Melanie Douglas (Jeff), Patrick Lindsey (Julia), Felesha Hayes, Josh Woods (Amber), Jonathan Bedwell (Brooke), Derrick Bedwell (Amber), Blake Bedwell (Brittney), Jerry Bedwell (Katlyn), and Morgan Bedwell; fourteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2024 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Palestine Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 11 AM – 9 PM and on Thursday 10 AM – 2 PM.
