Juanita Bryant Makinson, 90, of Killen died Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Glenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Elkins Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Elkins Funeral Home in the Chapel at 11 AM, with Bro. Mike Nash officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Makinson was preceded in death by three sons, Donald Ray Bryant, Rodger Bryant, and Ronald Bryant; her first husband who was the father to her children, Luther Bryant; her late husband, Lee Makinson; siblings, Audrey Evans, Bernice Smith, Wynell Sneed, and Edward Greene.
She is survived by her daughters, Jacqulyn Garrett and Diane Hamner (Lynn); step-sons, Paul and Mark Makinson; brother, Duel Greene (Julia); seven grandchildren, Deby Hillard, Regina Garrett, Donna Bryant Mitchell, Chuck Causey, Ranae Duncan, Lisa Wylie, and Shawn Bryant; eight great-grandchildren, Jeremy Valentine, Julie King, Michael Bryant, Ryan Hill, Dylan Wylie, Gabriella Garrett, Bailey and Brody Bryant; 7 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Makinson was a member of Faith Church. She enjoyed church, going to the senior center “the club”, to exercise and enjoy social activities, she also enjoyed gardening and cooking, especially preparing holiday dinners for her family. She was a loving hard working and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Christian.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Causey, Shawn Bryant, Jeremy Valentine, Michael Bryant, Will Hayes, Dylan Wylie, Brian Wylie, and Lamont McCreless.
