Joyce V. (Hocott) Chinberg, of Huntsville, Al., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, 27, July, 2023 at the age of 94. Joyce was born in Muskobee, Oklahoma March, 31, 1929 to William E. Hocott and Velma M. Hocott.
Joyce married Vincent Chinberg on September 24, 1950 and enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage before he passed on May 20, 2017.
Outside of being a devoted wife, loving mother, and friend, Joyce worked as a teacher’s aide at Covenant Presbyterian Church for 10 years and then retired from the Huntsville Public Library after 26 years of service.
She is survived by her children Steven Chinberg, Gary Chinberg, Sharon Andrews, Lisa McArthur, and Linda Herdy along with their spouses, brother Dr. James Hocott, 2 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
The family is profoundly grateful for the excellent care and love that was provided by Heritage Health Care and Rehabilitation in Tuscaloosa, Al.
A visitation service to pay family members condolences will be held at Spry Funeral Home on Monday, 07/31/2023 starting at 10am until 11am. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life service to reflect on Joyce Chinberg’s life.
Although our human side will miss her and selfishly wanted her to remain with us, we are comforted in knowing that she is in a better place and by God’s grace she passed peacefully.
