Graveside Services for Mrs. Joyce Griffin, age 82 of Ashland, will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Clay County Memory Gardens with Rev. Pat Hurst officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to services.
Mrs. Griffin passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the Clay County Hospital. She was born in Rome, Georgia, spent a few years in Sylacauga, but has lived in Clay County most of her life. She was a graduate of Lineville High School and worked at Higgins Manufacturing. She also worked in the Lineville Cafeteria Lunch Room and Russell Manufacturing until she retired. Throughout her working career, she most importantly was a homemaker. Mrs. Griffin often made her children’s clothing, and the clothing for her children’s dolls. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, word find puzzles, and sewing in her spare time. She was a member of Bowden Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by two daughters: Donna L. Hill (Danny) of Ashland and Melanie Headrick (Ralph) of Lineville; two sons: Jeff Griffin of Lineville and Bart Griffin of Heflin; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; her brother, Larry Roberson of Ashland, and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Buna Roberson; her great-grandson, Cain Heath; and her brother, Ronald Roberson.
