Joyce Gibson Barnes, 85, Leighton, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Visitation will be Sunday, March 26, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Tony McKelvey officiating.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Erskin Barnes; parents, Joe and Vivian Gibson; sons, Tommy, Steve, and Darren Barnes; brothers, Vernon and Larry Gibson; and sister, Fay Sparks.
Joyce is survived by her children, Cindy McKelvey (Tony) and Brian Barnes (Kim); brother, Bobby Gibson (Marjorie); grandchildren, Tommy Barnes, Ashley Jenkins, Wes McRight (Charley), Steven Green (Kassey), Cody McKelvey (Susan), Chynna McKelvey (Jonathan), Steely Danielle Collins (Drew), Dylan Ray Barnes, Jesse Lee Hunt, Matthew Riley Barnes, and Mandy Hill (Don); thirty great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family expresses special thanks to Bonnie Burnett, Deb Headrick, Donnie Crowden, and Pam Hacker.
